What is Eyeliner Tattoo?
Eyeliner tattoos are a semi permanent cosmetic makeup effect using tattooing pigment on the eye line of the lashes. Eyeliner tattoo is used to shape, define, lift and enhance the eye. A tapered line is drawn along the upper eyelid, from the inner corners to the outer edge. Eyeliner tattoo is very intricate with beautiful results. With eyeliner tattoos, you can have perfect, permanent eyeliner ready for any occasion. You can wakeup with fresh and bright eyes and apply more makeup when a more dramatic look is desired.
At Em Cosmetic Studio, we offer three styles to suit your preference. We can design a soft and subtle lash enhancement, a fuller and defined classic eyeliner or a personalised lower eyeliner tattoo. Keep in mind that you can always add to your tattooed eyeliner, but you can’t take anything away. So if you’re unsure how thick of a line to request, start thin. Book now to receive a beautiful smudge proof, waterproof and long lasting tattoo eyeliner.
Our Classic Eyeliner
This treatment implants the pigment within the lash line and is also applied above the lash line on the eyelid, drawn almost as if you were to put a liquid eyeliner on. It’s mostly for people who wear that look on a daily basis and they want the ease of waking up and not worrying about getting them even. The shape of the eyeliner will depend on your eye shape and preference. We can extend the edge of the eyeliner into a wing or simply add a pointed edge onto the line for a finished look. If you are unsure on which style to choose, we recommend a lash enhancement to begin with as we can always build the colour up when needed.
Our Lash Enhancement
This treatment gives a subtle and natural look to enhance the lash line. The pigment is implanted in amongst the lashes and gives the illusion of fuller, darker lashes. We can build this line up to be either thick or thin, depending on your preference. We recommend a lash line enhancement if you are unsure on what style to choose. It is perfect for those that want to go natural before committing to a full classic eyeliner which is thicker. If a thicker style with a pointed end is what you desire, a classic eyeliner would be better suited.
Our Lower Eyeliner Tattoo
This treatment involves the pigment being implanted in amongst the lower/bottom lashes and gives the illusion of fuller, darker lashes. It gives a subtle and natural look to enhance the lash line. We can build this line up to be either thick or thin, depending on your preference. If you love the look of both upper and lower eyeliner, we can do both in one session.
The Benefits of Eyeliner Tattoo
Eyeliner tattooing is a simple way to enhance your eyes. After all, the eyes are the windows to the soul and we want them to look their best. Almost all people who wear makeup, use eyeliner! It makes the eye colour pop and accentuates that facial feature. On a daily basis, people who apply eyeliner have to go through the struggle of making it even. To make matters worse, most eyeliner products tend to smudge or fade, leading to dark-circles, swollen under eyes, eye irritation and redness. This treatment is equally perfect for those who are allergic to beauty products, have poor eyesight and wear contact lenses or glasses or have limited mobility, making application difficult.
We can help you to create a beautifully designed semi permanent eyeliner tattoo with your choice of style, width and colour. You can now have beautiful and well-defined eyes throughout the day without that fear of getting it wet and having it smudge. Wake up in the morning and already have your eyeliner looking perfect.
The Eyeliner Tattooing Process
Eyeliner tattoo is done with a tattoo machine that implants pigment into the thin and sensitive skin of the eyes using ultra-fine needles. The machine we use is high quality and allows us to implant the pigment much closer to the skin surface penetrating only into the base of the epidermis. While standard tattoos use ink, cosmetic tattooing is done with pigments that is selected according to the skin tone and undertone. We have a range of pigment colours to choose from, but the most common and recommended colour for eyeliner is black.
To begin the process, a comprehensive and informative consultation takes place. This is where we discuss the shape, colour and thickness that you want to achieve. We map your personalised shape on to your eyelids until perfection. Once we are both 100% happy with the design, we apply a pre numb along the shape and lash line. When the pre numb has taken affect, we begin implanting pigment into the lash line and follow along the sharp edge of the design that we created. For comfort during the procedure, an anaesthetic is used once the skin has been broken. This tattooing process continues until an even saturation has been achieved. The tattoo session takes up to 1-2 hours, depending on the thickness and style of eyeliner that you want.
What to Expect After the Procedure
When the first session of tattooing is over, there will be slight swelling, potential bruising and soreness in the following hours which will eventually subside. You can continue to carry on with your normal activities, but it is advisable to take a day off from work if you want to be discreet. You will experience slight flaking of the skin which is common during the healing stage. A complimentary after care package will be given that includes a specific ointment to prevent infections and irritation. It is important to follow the aftercare plan that is provided to ensure perfect retention and healthy healing. There are a few elements that can affect the eyeliner tattoo in regards to how long it lasts. Depending on your lifestyle and daily activities, results may differ for each person.
